Public Franz&Sue Events from February to March 2019
Early 2019 was a busy time at Franz&Sue that included moving to our new studio at the Quartiershaus Stadtelefant (the “City Elephant”) in Vienna’s new Sonnwendviertel urban renewal zone as well as completion of the courthouse project in Salzburg. What’s more, we presented a number of lectures in which we spoke about these and other projects.
As part of the building and energy trade fair Bauen & Energie Messe Wien in Vienna, the magazine architektur.aktuell put on a lecture series in which architects teamed up with partners from industry and the planning profession to present their projects. In this context, Franz&Sue partner Robert Diem spoke about innovative building technology in dialogue with Nicole Heptner from Euro Unitech Jung.
The BetonTage [Concrete Days] in Neu-Ulm are an annual summit meeting of the German-speaking region’s prefabricated concrete element industry. At this event’s architecture conference, we talked about what concrete has to do with the climate and the atmosphere, taking the Collections and Research Center of the Tyrolean State Museums as our example.
Franz&Sue carried out a six-year project to remodel and expand the courthouse complex in Salzburg, which saw its first users arrive in October 2018 and is a project that’s quite close to our hearts. At the architecture festival TURN ON, Franz&Sue partner Christian Ambos gave the first presentation of this project geared to a general audience.
“Live & Work” was the theme of this year’s Arhihome architecture conference in Ljubljana. Franz&Sue project head Barbara Hohensinn spoke there about the residential construction projects that have by now become an important core competency of our studio.
